About Us
Lane Cove Residents for Reconciliation (LCRR) is a voluntary, Local Reconciliation Group of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people working together to raise awareness of the issues involved in the process of Reconciliation at local, state and national levels, consistent with the national 'Corroboree 2000' Vision Statement:
"A united Australia which respects this land of ours; values the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage; and provides justice and equity for all."

Public Meetings: All welcome - Admission Free: 7.00pm for 7.30 - 9.30pm. 1st Tues: March, June (Northern Sydney Guringai Festival), Sept (Lane Cove Cameraygal Festival) - Venue: 'The Cove Room', Lane Cove Civic Centre, 48 Longueville Rd, Lane Cove (cnr Epping Rd).
- Public Meetings with Indigenous and non-Indigenous speakers.
- Reconciliation workshops, information stalls and social events.
- Supporting major Reconciliation activities & events eg Reconciliation & NAIDOC Weeks

- 2001: LCRR Book Publication "Children's Voices for Reconciliation "(national distribution).
- 2004: LCRR Recipients of a Northern Sydney "Guringai Festival" Award.
- 2004: Plaque at Woodford Bay acknowledging Aboriginal resistance to British invasion; jointly unveiled by NSW Governor & the Chairperson, Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council.

Public Meeting on Aboriginal Tourism
Showing and sharing the oldest living culture on earth is a proud and evolving Aboriginal tourism industry - uniquely Australian. Hear two authoritative perspectives:
- ADEN RIDGEWAY (Gumbayyngirr Nation) - Executive Chairman of Indigenous Tourism Australia - Gives a national overview.
- SHANE PHILLIPS (Bundjalung Nation) - Chief Executive Officer of Tribal Warrior Association - provides a Sydney focus.
There will also be two short films on Aboriginal tourism.

FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE WOODFORD BAY RECONCILIATION MEMORIAL CEREMONY
AN INFORMAL PICNIC IN CAMERAYGAL COUNTRY
LANE COVE RESIDENTS FOR RECONCILIATION invites you, your family and friends to join with us in the celebration of the first anniversary of the historic Woodford Bay Reconciliation Memorial Ceremony.
We are celebrating the anniversary with an INFORMAL picnic on Sunday 6 February.
Date: Sunday, 6 February 2005
Time: 12 noon onwards
Venue: Woodford Bay, Woodford St, Longueville
Details: BYO PICNIC ... food, drinks, picnic rug/chairs etc
The area is grassed, with shady trees and a children's playground, and overlooks the Lane Cove River where it enters the harbour.
If you play guitar or didge, perhaps you might like to bring it along. This will be a good opportunity for everyone to gather in an informal and friendly picnic atmosphere.
We will proceed regardless of wet weather -
Transport: Street parking or Bus 261 'Lane Cove' from QVB, York St, City or from North Sydney Station (alight cnr Woodford/Arabella Sts, Longueville).
